We offer internship opportunities to undergraduate and
graduate students at colleges and universities in Greater Lowell, Greater
Lawrence, and Greater Boston. Interns come from a variety of programs, including
Social Work, Community Health Education, Community Psychology and Public Health.
Interns work from 10-32 hours per week, depending on their scheduling and school
programming needs/requirements.
Opportunities for Learning and Growth as a Professional
We strive to provide interns with opportunities to expand
their current knowledge and skills and to foster their development as
professionals in their field of interest. Opportunities for growth are mutually
identified by the Internship Program Manager/Supervisor and the intern. Such
experiences include:
-
Participation in community/network meetings;
- Management
of 1-2 independent project(s) mutually agreed upon by the Internship Program
Manager/Supervisor and intern;
- Assistance
in needs assessment, data analysis, strategic planning, and evaluation;
-
Development of public relations and resources;
- Public
health and community health research; and
- Research
on policy/legislative issues.
We are committed to matching skills
development trainings and in-services in:
- Public
health/prevention (How to Choose an Effective Prevention Program, Coalition
Building, Grant Writing);
- Youth
development (Assets, All Stars); and
- Computer
software, including all Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Publisher, Access),
SPSS, Survey Monkey, Constant Contact, HTML, ArcGIS, among others.
