grant guide

This section of the NCHC’s website will help you, a staff member of a local nonprofit, learn to research and write for smaller prevention-oriented grants (up to $5,000).  The proposal writing section will also be of use if you choose to apply for larger grants.

We have included information about each step you will take to get your proposal funded, including:

  1. Program Planning

  2. Researching Funders

  3. Proposal Writing

  4. Proposal Follow-Up

In addition, the NCHC has compiled a list of funders that support organizations in northeast Massachusetts. Visit the grant writing resources section for a list of books, online guides and workshops available.

The grant application process may seem daunting but it is manageable, even for smaller nonprofits. Grant writing is a rewarding experience, helping you win funds for your organization and engage a wider community in your nonprofit's work.
