The NCHC helps communities develop and sustain comprehensive, evidence-based substance abuse prevention. NCHC is part of a state-wide system of Regional Centers that works with the support of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Abuse Services (BSAS) to promote a strategic prevention framework through training, capacity building and on-going support and assistance to BSAS-funded communities and coalitions.

MassCALL2 communities are funded to reduce opiate overdose.
BSAS Substance Abuse Prevention communities are funded to address youth substance abuse 9 in particular, underage drinking) through environmental strategies.
